Featured Retailer of the Month
The Local Grocer is a health food store, eco-gift shop and café located in North Conway, N.H. It was founded in 2010 by Clinical Herbalist, Heather Chase, and Permaculture Designer, Russell Van Deursen, who were inspired to share their passion for local food and economy, holistic health, and natural living. Their mission is to provide the community with delicious, healthy food and natural living products. As avid gardeners and owners of the permaculture farm, Mountain Flower Farm, Heather and Russ believe in organic agriculture and sourcing locally.
The Local Grocer provides the community with the tools to support health and wellness, including a comprehensive selection of quality products that meet diverse dietary needs, organic and healthy breakfast and lunch items, natural remedies, eco-living wellness products, and metaphysical tools to enhance quality of life.
At The Local Grocer, customers can find a wide range of high-quality products, including fresh organic produce, grass-fed meat, artisanal cheese, and many vegan and gluten-free options. The store also offers a full-service deli and bakery, where customers can enjoy delicious sandwiches, soups, smoothies, espresso drinks, fresh pressed juice, and baked goods made from scratch. In addition, The Local Grocer has an extensive selection of supplements, vitamins, and natural remedies to support a healthy lifestyle.
The eco-gift shop offers a wide variety of interesting and ethically sourced items: locally made clothing and pottery, crystal jewelry, yoga supplies, wellness books, candles, incense, and other creative finds and holistic lifestyle goods.
Heather and Russ are committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment. The Local Grocer is not just a market, café and eco-gift shop; it’s a community hub. With Mountain Kula Yoga located below The Local Grocer market, and Be Well Studios offering health services upstairs, it is truly a wellness center to bring people together who are seeking a sustainable, healthy lifestyle.
